Study Music & Sound

Professionals in music and sound who are self-sufficient, business savvy, technologically capable and who believe in their own ability are well set up to take on the challenges of a dynamic and evolving creative sector.
Music courses at QUT respond to changing industry needs, emphasising creativity and new music. Students are encouraged to explore new connections, different styles and genres of music, and understand how to use technology to create, record, and distribute works. You can focus on creating new music using songwriting, studio recording, sequencing, digital processing and writing for voices and acoustic instruments.
If you are interested in performance you can focus on developing your unique performance style, such as new work, using digital technology, new interpretations of repertoire, and gain experience performing in QUT's Doggett Street Studios.
