Study Journalism

Journalism courses provide professional preparation for careers in print, broadcast and online media anywhere in the world.
At the core of the journalism course is the production and presentation of news and current affairs reports for 4EB radio, the QUT News channel, print and online communications. You will have access to industry-standard equipment and facilities, including dedicated newsrooms, radio and TV studios, editing suites and production offices.
Career outcomes
Graduates from QUT's journalism degree successfully land high-profile graduate jobs and have secured employment at ABC, Channel's Seven, Nine and Network 10 and also in the online industry. Others seek employment successfully in public relations, media management and corporate communications.
Scholarships
Radio station 4EB and QUT offer a one-year Ethnic Radio Scholarship valued at $5,000 towards your student contribution to a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). The successful applicant must have at least one parent born outside of Australia.
