Visual arts provides a focused education in modern and contemporary art practices as preparation for professional careers in the broad field of creative visual culture. Visual artists today are equally at home in experimental studio practice; working in film, video and other digital media; operating as independent visual designers; as art teachers; or in a variety of roles in galleries and museums.

TASTE TEST continues the Creative Industries Faculty's commitment to showcasing the exceptionally diverse and exciting work of our Visual Arts graduates. Both the exhibition and catalogue demonstrate the potential of these young and emerging artists. Their unique ability to develop artwork across a broad range of individual concepts and media is a hallmark of this course.

An important component of visual arts education is to learn to read, comment and challenge existing modes of acceptance in contemporary culture. Therefore, some people may take offence at some of the visual images contained in this catalogue.
