QUT’s Acting and Technical Production courses are well known for their rigour, thoroughness, and the care and attention for the individual development of each student.

The acting course offers a strong focus on preparing graduates for screen roles as well as traditional conservatoire actor training for the stage. Graduates include AFI award winner Gyton Grantley, actor turned director Wayne Blair, and Helpmann Award nominee James Stewart. Newcomers Joshua Helman and Kathryn Beck will appear in major TV series’ 'The Pacific' and 'East of Everything' during 2009.

Technical production students gain skills in lighting, sound, stage management and production management. Graduates work on stage productions such as 'Wicked', and have touring positions with 'Cirque du Soleil'.
