Kelvin Grove Urban Village

The Kelvin Grove Urban Village is a joint initiative between the Queensland Government (through the Department of Housing) and QUT to create a dynamic mix of educational, residential, community and retail facilities for inner-city living.

QUT's presence will be felt throughout the whole village, with University and village life mingling as one. University facilities will be used as village facilities, and students, staff and researchers will mix with village locals.

QUT's first developments in the village are the Creative Industries Precinct and the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, whose facilities complement and extend those on QUT's Kelvin Grove Campus, which incorporates the faculties of Health, Education and Creative Industries.

Also completed are a range of residential units and the Village Centre, which incorporates a supermarket, specialty retail stores, cafes and restaurants.

• 44 Musk Avenue, which will include a gymnasium, sports courts and indoor swimming pool and facilities for the Queensland Red Cross Blood Service
• student accommodation for 450 students, to be managed by Campus Living
• Synergy, a six-storey commercial office development
• Oxford Park, a residential apartment development
